LSCP Working Together (1 Full Day)

This ONE DAY training focuses on the processes, principals and dilemmas of working together effectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children including those who are suffering, or are at risk of suffering significant harm. 

The course aims to develop understanding of the processes supporting the safeguarding of children and young people.  To extend knowledge, skills and abilities enabling effective partnership working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.  

The session is specifically aimed at Adult or Child practitioners and professionals from multi agency settings who will be involved in Child Protection work: Social workers, Education & Schools’ staff, Safeguarding Leads, Police & Health and those relevant colleagues within the Voluntary/Third sector.

Parking on site

Attendees must attend for the full duration of the session in order to receive a certificate of attendance. 

Aims and Objectives

The session aims to supports participants to:

  • Develop a historical understanding of ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’.
  • Understand the safeguarding roles of parents and carers and recognise factors that can impact upon parenting.
  • Develop an awareness of ‘roles and responsibilities’ in other agencies, understanding that each share ‘common responsibilities’.
  • Consolidate knowledge and understanding of statutory legislations.
  • Understand how to share information efficiently and effectively.
  • Know the function and purpose of a strategy discussion.
  • Know how to record information effectively and the importance of effective record keeping in all: assessment, planning, intervention and review.
  • Understand the purpose of 'Serious Case Reviews', the process and themes emerging from them.
