DA T3 - Child on Parent Domestic Abuse
Preliminary note: If you require an introduction to Domestic Abuse please ensure that you have attended the DA Tier 1 Domestic Abuse Introduction course BEFORE booking for this course.
This half day course is designed to provide attendees with an awareness of the similarities and differences between intimate partner domestic abuse and Child to Parent Abuse, how to identify child on parent domestic abuse and recognise positive and effective good practice.
Designed for professionals working with families where the child / adolescent is abusive and controlling towards parents & Managers responsible for Family Support services
- Defining & identifying this type of abuse
- Explore similarities and differences between intimate partner abuse and child to parent abuse
- Case studies to explore pathways and contributory factors that lead to this type of abuse
- Challenges in responding to child to parent abuse
- Positive, effective and good practice approach to working with families
- Examples of programmes in the UK
NB: Please note this training will be delivered in person. This venue is an accessible space.
